Kinship care is the raising of a child or children by relatives or close family friends because the biological parents are, for whatever reason, unwilling or unable to do so.
We are mainly a drop in, support group for kinship carers run by kinship carers. Our group meets once a week at Leith Community Education Centre. *Excluding school holidays*.
Kinsfolk Carers Edinburgh
Reg Charity No. SCO37797.
Every Thursday morning from 10AM to 12PM, excluding school holidays, we meet at the Leith Community Education Centre. For many of us this is an informal social gathering where we can discuss, in confidence, relevant issues and generally help to support each other in a relaxed environment. We are always delighted to encourage new carers to join our warm and friendly group.
Kinsfolk Carers working in partnership with Mentor Kinship Care Project are delighted that Mentor’s Family Support Worker Yvonne Ramsay will be offering three surgeries a week offering free one to one confidential support. These sessions will be held at Leith Community Education Centre, Granton Information Centre and Greengables Nursery in Craigmillar and can be booked through this web-site. To arrange an appointment to see Yvonne click on the link below.
